Madrid are a horrible horrible club - to sack a manager 4 points off the top and into the last 16 of the champions league is laughable but totally understandable when it comes to Madrid. Never liked them, never will. Comment posted by Eeyore, at 5 Jan Eeyore. One of the great pleasures in football is watching Real shoot themselves in the foot time and time again. Their ham fisted philosophy is to spend and spend and then throw a tantrum every time they don't win everything.
The appointments are getting more desperate and ridiculous after they burned through most of the best coaches. There's no class at that organization whatever.

Fun Science fact. Within 15 years no matter where you are in the world, you'll be no more than m from a former Real Madrid manager. Comment posted by Sproat, at 5 Jan Sproat Sacked after 7months. Real Madrid is a club of ego, galactico and brashly throwing lavish amounts of cash to attract what are perceived to be the world's best players. I was amazed that the Madrid hierarchy thought that Benitez, with his studious, inoffensive, note-pad scribbling approach to management was the right choice. When Ronaldo leaves that club the job will be easier for future managers.

If you think the richest clubs in the PL are bad, RM are a whole new level. The only thing that matters to them is money, and winning so that they can make even more money through shirt sales to easily hoodwinked foreign glory supporters.
Give me an honest lower league club over RM any day. Comment posted by lewlil, at 5 Jan lewlil. Ronaldo is the issue, he throws his toys out of his pram everytime things don't go his way. They lost against Valencia in the first game of with Ancelotti in charge, and they lost badly against Atletico Madrid in a derby that was embarrassing to Real Madrid. In fact, Florentino Perez said that himself when he announced that Rafa Benitez was going to continue about a month ago.
He said that what we are seeing now is a consequence of the last 12 months. They lack hunger. This seems like the end of a cycle for the team.
What Perez wanted Benitez to do was to give the team a new impulse, and quite clearly he hasn't managed to do that. You have a choice of a president who hasn't got a football brain making decisions, a manager who perhaps should have said no to the job, or players who are not giving per cent. Search Sky Sports. Live La Liga Football. There were a lot of signs that the team was in decay. Around Sky. At best, they are downright ignorant as to what is in front of them.
I would like to think few would fault him for his departure — a dignified refusal to play the puppet Ashley wanted of him — and he will for ever, regretfully, be remembered as the one that got away. Ashley supposedly remains in talks with several potential purchasers, including the Dubai-based billionaire Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed al-Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates.
And in the wings, the fans will be left, as they often have been under this regime, with a sense of nothingness. Pre-season starts in 10 days: no manager, no signings, no hope. Read more.
